It's been a while...but I decided it was time to put the FFIV DS script into one convenient place so it could be downloaded. Yup.

I think it goes without saying that this does not belong to me, but to Square Enix.  This is a reference tool for writers of fanfiction and veterans of the game :)

This transcription also includes the thought bubble feature added to this version of the game.

I don't think this needs a disclaimer, as I've already stated it FIVE TIMES. But. Yes. Not making a profit off of this. Belongs to Square-Enix. Please use only for reference.

Re-statement of Disclaimer: This is a transcription of the game's dialogue and a summary of its events. As it was transcribed by me, a fan, it's not perfect (but admittedly, not too shabby, I'd give it 98% accuracy). The characters, events, and everything within this transcription belong to Square-Enix. I am making no profit off of this, and am making it available to fans who've already played the game, and who author fanfiction to use as a REFERENCE. If you have not yet played this game, please go buy yourself a copy and play it. It's wonderful. And, just for good measure, as this is a transcription of the game and its events there are obviously SPOILERS. If you haven't played the game, DO NOT READ THIS. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Also to note...I've included the thought bubbles that were added to this version of the game because I thought they were a wonderful addition to the storyline and added new depth to the characters, enough so, to be considered part of the script itself. I did not, however, include dialogue from villagers.

whispers in the dark

I started this several weeks ago...and finally finished it. I figured I would post it for other FFIV fanfiction writers to use as a reference for their work.

Disclaimer: This is a transcription of the game's dialogue and a summary of its events. As it was transcribed by me, a fan, it's not perfect (but admittedly, not too shabby, I'd give it 98% accuracy, not including typos...). I did not, however, include dialogue from villagers.

If any of you find things that could be changed, please let me know. For instance, I'm catching typos that I've missed...some of the text was difficult to transcribe because there was no opportunity to pause the dialogue, write it down, and continue. So if you see any typos, misspelled names, places, or missing punctuation...that's what happened, and please let me know so I can fix it!

This is the first of several parts. The original word document is 80 pages, so I'm splitting it up into more manageable parts for easier consumption.

I didn't realize that when livejournal made the switch from basic to plus accounts, they automatically changed comment settings -_-

It's fixed now so that even people who aren't mutually friended can comment on public posts. Sorry about that!

Falling From Grace

whispers in the dark
Here we have a Kain/Rydia fic...without the romance of Kain/Rydia >.> (I'm sorry, Katmillia!!!)

This started off as being a lot more...well...there was going to be a lot more /closeness/ between the two of them by the end, and then somehow...that just didn't happen. Admittedly, it was a challenge just to get inside Kain's head at all without worrying about romance, lol. I'm traditionally bad at romance...BUT I'M TAKING BABY STEPS!!! So...this is mostly a very introspective Kain piece with Rydia involvement...and a search for redemption. I like some parts of this...and think I could have done more with others...I'm open for suggestions and maybe some ideas to tweak, expand, or re-write. This is a first draft of a sort and I'm willing to play with it more :)

Title: Falling from Grace
Words: 2380
Genre: Angst
Pairings: sort of implied Kain/Rydia...or the beginnings of Kain/Rydia
Rating: K

Title: The Dangers of Wine
Pairing: Edge/Rydia
Rating: K
Words: 973
Summary: Oneshot. What was wrong with him? Why was he ignoring her, they were friends after all...weren't they? But Rydia's had too much of the wine, and now she begins to suspect what she should have seen all along... (Post-game. Scene at Cecil and Rosa's wedding)

Escaping the Flames

whispers in the dark

It occurred to me that I'd been posting individual chapters for Escaping the Flames last summer and then suddenly stopped halfway through. The fanfiction is completed now and instead of posting the rest of the individual chapters, I'll just put up a link to the entire completed fic on fanfiction.net

I feel like I'm talking about this thing all the time, but for those of you interested, here's the link and a description.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2805280/1/Escaping_the_Flames

Title: Escaping the Flames
Rating: K+
Length: 18 chapters
Based on: Final Fantasy IV's character Rydia
Summary: (those of you that know the game and the character, this is a novelization of game events from Rydia's point of view as a little girl, starting from Mist. Goes into her character a little more and there's more dialogue and character interaction.)
For those of you who DON'T know the game or character, here's summary number two:
Rydia is a seven year old girl just wanting to learn to become a summoner like her mother. One day when two mysterious knights arrive in the valley of her village unknowingly bringing destruction with them, her peaceful life is shattered. With her village gone, and her mother dead, Rydia finds herself in the company of Cecil, a dark knight who was tricked into carrying out the errand to her village that ended in its annihilation. Afterwards swearing himself an enemy to his own kingdom, travels with Rydia, a fledgling mage, to put an end to his king's madness and spare the other kingdoms from any more bloodshed. But to stand up against the strongest kingdom in the world, they'll need allies. Rydia gets caught up in a quest to save the world and avenge her fallen people. She's just a little girl, but as she travels, she finds she's so much more.

I suck at summaries, but yeah, that's the gist of it.

Here's the second part of Escaping the Flames..."Where Trust Begins" This one takes up a bit more space because I had to doublespace some of the lines and I'm too lazy to change that...it's only 1240 words

For those of you who are new to this journal, please disregard any previous posts to this entry! There's really nothing for you to read...and I'm too lazy to delete them.

For the future reference of everyone, this journal is now officially FRIENDS ONLY! If I discover that you've stolen any of my material...well...I will make your life hell.

Now that that's out of the way, I enjoy getting feedback on my work so that I know if I'm moving in the right direction. Please be constructive, since I like receiving specific information and not simple "I liked it a lot". If that is the case however, please tell me what it was that you liked so that it doesn't get promptly deleted in future editing sessions.

also to note--I write fantasy, some regular old fiction and also some poetry. Probably the only things I'll post here are fantasy and poetry. Just to keep you in the know.

but that's all I've got for right now, I may eventually go back and re-edit this post, mix some things up...but until then, I hope all of you have a great day, and thanks for checking this out!
